Terms of Service
These terms set out the agreement between you (the subscriber, parent, or legal guardian) and Lermu Ltd (the service provider). By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to be bound by them.
About us
Lermu is operated by Lermu Ltd (Company Number to be confirmed), a company registered in England and Wales. Contact: hello@lermu.com.
Who can use Lermu
You must be 18 or older to create an account. Children under 18 may use the platform only via a parent or legal guardian's account. The account holder is responsible for all activity on their account, including their child's use.
You agree to provide accurate account information. You agree to keep your login credentials secure and not share them.
Subscriptions and payment
Lermu is a subscription service. Current pricing is shown on the pricing page. We reserve the right to change prices with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers; price changes don't affect your current billing period.
Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance. Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise recurring charges to your chosen payment method until you cancel.
Free trial. New subscribers receive a 5-day free trial. You won't be charged if you cancel before the trial ends. After the trial, your chosen plan begins automatically.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until that date.
Cooling-off period. Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of first subscribing and receive a full refund, EVEN IF the trial has ended, unless you've explicitly agreed that services began during the cooling-off period.
After 14 days. We don't offer refunds for partial months or unused time. If you cancel mid-cycle, you retain access until the end of the billing period.
Exceptions. If the service has a material failure we can't fix within a reasonable time, you're entitled to a pro-rata refund. Contact hello@lermu.com to raise an issue.
Our service
We aim to provide Lermu at high availability, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may need to take the platform down for maintenance, updates, or to fix problems. We'll try to do this outside peak hours and notify you of extended downtime.
We continuously improve the product. Features may be added, modified, or removed. We won't materially reduce the service without notice.
What Lermu is. An adaptive practice platform covering the reasoning content of the 11+ exam. It does not replace a tutor, a school, or a full revision plan. Results depend on consistent use by the child. We make no guarantees about exam outcomes.
Acceptable use
You agree NOT to:
— Share your account with anyone outside your household
— Use automated tools, scrapers, or bots to extract content
— Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code
— Use the service for anything illegal
— Resell or sublicense access to Lermu content
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
Intellectual property
All Lermu content — questions, explanations, platform design, code — is owned by Lermu Ltd or licensed from our partners. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use it for the duration of your subscription. You don't get ownership of any content.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or publish Lermu content outside of your personal use on the platform.
User-generated content
If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use them to improve the product. We won't identify you publicly in connection with your feedback without permission.
Our liability
Our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before any claim arises. This limit applies to all claims in aggregate.
We don't exclude or limit liability for: death or personal injury caused by negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; anything else that UK law says we can't exclude.
We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses (e.g., loss of profits, loss of opportunity).
Termination
You can close your account at any time by cancelling your subscription. We can terminate your account if you materially breach these terms; we'll give you reasonable notice and a chance to fix the problem first, except in serious cases (e.g., fraud, security threats) where we may terminate immediately.
On termination, you lose access to the platform. We retain your data according to our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the change means you accept the new terms. If you don't accept them, you can cancel your subscription.
Governing law
These terms are governed by English law. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, though as a UK consumer you may also have the right to bring proceedings in your local court.
Complaints
If you have a complaint, email hello@lermu.com and we'll do our best to resolve it. If you're not satisfied, UK consumers can use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform, or refer the matter to a UK alternative dispute resolution scheme.
